Voters Ask:

  • Annie has many concerns, including affordable housing, protecting our lakes and other natural resources, preserving strong public schools, and lowering costs for working families and seniors. But her greatest concern is the growing financial burden being placed on ordinary New Hampshire taxpayers. The current legislative majority supports the wealthy and large corporate donors by giving them tax breaks while downshifting those costs onto local communities and property taxpayers.That is not sustainable or fair. 

    We need to make New Hampshire more affordable for the people who live and work here. Annie will work to protect our public institutions, make responsible use of taxpayer dollars, and ensure that working families and seniors are not continually asked to pay more.

  • One of the biggest surprises has been receiving a letter from a group called NH Exit Now asking legislative candidates to sign a pledge supporting New Hampshire's secession from the United States. Annie found that deeply concerning. 

    Secession is not a realistic path for New Hampshire, and she is troubled by the growing influence of these extremists in our state legislature. She is particularly concerned about the influence of those associated with the Free State Project and their efforts to weaken public institutions, including our public schools and local governments. 

    Voters should pay close attention to the candidates they elect and the organizations and movements they align themselves with.

  • Annie has serious concerns about the current EFA program. The first is fiscal: the money that goes to EFAs is money that should go to support our public schools and reduce the burden on local property taxpayers.

    The second concern is accountability and transparency. Any program that uses taxpayer dollars should have strong oversight, clear reporting requirements, and meaningful accountability. State funding should support our public schools, which serve every child in our communities, rather than subsidizing private or religious education without the same level of public accountability.
