Voters Ask:

  • Annie Gehring has serious concerns about the current EFA program. The first is fiscal: the money that goes to EFAs is money that should go to support our public schools to make sure all our children get the education they need and reduce the burden on local property taxpayers.

    The second concern is accountability and transparency. Any program that uses taxpayer dollars should have strong oversight, clear reporting requirements, and meaningful accountability. State funding should support our public schools, which serve every child in our communities, rather than subsidizing private or religious education without the same level of public accountability.

  • The biggest issue facing Carroll County residents is the growing financial burden being placed on ordinary New Hampshire taxpayers. The current legislative majority supports the wealthy and large corporate donors by giving them tax breaks, while pushing those costs onto local communities and property taxpayers.That is not sustainable or fair. 

    We need to make New Hampshire more affordable for the people who live and work here. Annie Gehring will work to protect our public institutions, make responsible use of taxpayer dollars, and ensure that working families and seniors are not continually asked to pay more. Annie Gehring will fight to fix the education funding formula so your property taxes go down.

  • It is time for our taxes to actually return to Carroll County to fund our infrastructure and services.

    We need sensible local housing options so our children can afford to stay here, and our seniors can afford to downsize without leaving the towns they love.

  • Health care and medical insurance costs continue to climb out of reach. No family should have to choose between putting food on the table and keeping family members healthy.

    Health care must be affordable and accessible in every corner of our state — guided by patients and medical professionals, not politicians or insurance companies. Small businesses and individuals should have access to insurance they can afford, but that doesn’t leave them without coverage. Insurance companies should not dictate or deny medically necessary care.

  • We need to protect our beautiful natural resources from cyanobacteria and other threats to the health of our environment.

    Annie Gehring will work to keep New Hampshire’s environment safe for all to enjoy.

  • Annie is deeply concerned about a letter she received from a group called NH Exit Now asking legislative candidates to sign a pledge supporting New Hampshire's secession from the United States. 

    Secession is not a realistic path for New Hampshire, and she is troubled by the growing influence of these extremists in our state legislature. She is particularly concerned about the influence of those associated with the Free State Project and their efforts to weaken public institutions, including our public schools and local governments. 

    Voters should pay close attention to the candidates they elect and the organizations and movements they align themselves with.
